Reviews
No AC all staff members are Dripping wet and smell like Sweat! They’re nice and do a great job and unfortunately they only get paid off of tips - and because most people aren’t as happy with the food at all - they suffer and don’t earn too much….
Skirt steak was $70 and it tasted like rotten eggs, and was tough and hard like leather shoe sole, Lamb wasn’t fresh and Matbucha was Gassy.
At least in Israel they make better salads.
Authentic middle eastern cuisine cooked with flavor and spices. Top rated kosher restaurant in Brooklyn.
You can never go wrong at Davids great food
46 years of customers can’t be wrong! Family-based restaurant in Brooklyn which surprises you with everything cooked on site except for pitas. And, boy, do they cook. I went for goulash, fully expecting a soup bowl with several pieces of beef in a paprika sauce. I was wrong, what I got was a Noah’s Ark of abundance. There were dozen pieces of mouth-melting tender beef and a pile of rice. I was served two pieces of bread, a plate of pickled onion and another (!) plate of pickled cabbage.
It was filling to say the least. Pita was warm and soft. Pickles had certain bite to them. I couldn’t finish it all in one sitting! I had to get a doggie bag!
So I was expecting to pay separately for goulash and multiple side dishes. And you know what? I paid only got goulash - all these side dishes are included in the price.
Hall has 12 tables, mostly for 4 persons but there is one which can accommodate up to 10 people. Walls have nice photos of Mediterranean food. Bathroom is clean, they have washing cups if you use them before eating bread. All food is kosher.
All in all, great place. Food was to tasty I bit my tongue twice. And I don’t complain!
Authentic kosher middle eastern cuisine
WE CALLED THIS PLACE TODAY AT 1130 FOR A RESERVATION. ALL WAS CONFIRMED BY THE RESTAURANT AND WE JUST GOT A CALL FROM TELLING US THEY MADE A MISTAKE BY TAKING THE RESERVATION. I HAVENT BEEN THERE SINCE 5 YEARS AGO AFTER LEAVING THE NASTIEST REVIEW...............I used to say great things about this restaurant but now they are getting too too greedy and guess over what? Tehina sauce. After trying to get them on the phone for 20 minutes, finally answer the phone placing an order for 3 sandwiches, a platter, and 4 soups. And asking for extra tehina sauce, the guy goes you want 4 little containers of sauce, its half a pound am going to charge you $5. The order I was ready to place would have been at least $130 for a few containers of tehina I ended up canceling the entire order because it's not right this is Jewish and kosher restaurants thinking like they are the only ones who serve food and always make it seem like they are doing you a favor by placing your order. I will not step foot in this store ever.
Very authentic please, Israeli food, good service, highly recommend
This place is always packed but I really don't know why. This place really deserves zero stars.
I got there tonight in my party of 3 and was seated after a 15 minute wait. There was missing flatware and the waitress said they didn't have any forks left so we'd have to wait until they were ready. We ordered a rib steak, a skirt steak and a mixed grill. Neither glasses nor water was provided until we asked for them. Although both steaks were ordered medium rare, the skirt steak came well done. The mixed grill steak was overdone and dry while one of the pieces of chicken was underdone. The two steaks came a good five minutes before the mixed grill arrived. It's true that the portions are overflowing, but who wants such an excess of unremarkable food? They did refill the bread and the spicy red cabbage, for which my son awarded them 5 points, but since they were at a negative infinity for their lack of attentiveness to both quality of service and food, it didn't help much in my book. When the waitress came to ask how everything was, we told her all the problems and she just smiled and walked away. Such indifference makes me wonder why people continue to come here. They asked us if we wanted to take the leftovers home but we didn't even want to eat them there, so we left 2 plates of French fries, half of the skirt steak and 4 pieces of the mixed grill.
Definitely go elsewhere -- this place is even worse than T Fusion in Marine Park, and I didn't think that was possible. At least the waiter there jokes around with you about how bad the food is there.
